The Mental Awareness Foundation wants to acknowledge a beautiful soul that has recently passed – Ashley Clymo.
Ashley Clymo was not only an amazing human, but he was also an amazing contributor to our organisation – The Mental Awareness Foundation.
Three years ago – November 2016, a young man moved into the commercial premises next to ours. This redheaded ball of energy named Ashley opened his coffee shop, ‘Toasted’ – located in Everton Park. Personally I was so happy to have this new cafe open as it meant that I had quality coffee located within a 10-metre radius of my office.
My brother (Tudor) and I strolled into the new cafe and we were impressed by his commitment to serving delicious food and great coffee. It was only a matter of time before we struck up an amazing relationship with Ash, sharing business tips with each other and also persuading him to stock coconut milk to use in his coffee!
As time passed Ashley became intrigued by our business. He also noticed that outside of business hours, my brother and I dedicated time towards mental health awareness. Ashley always showed interest and when he discovered that Tudor and I had created an event called Walk For Awareness – without hesitation he wanted to help. In October 2017 Ashley and his partner got involved in Australia’s largest walk, dedicated to Mental Health. Ash was such a highlight at the event and his energy added to the experience of the morning.
It is truly sad that anxiety was an issue within Ash – a mental health issue that was never exposed. Unfortunately, anxiety caught up with Ashley.
Ashley, we are truly grateful to have experienced your amazing energy and the love that you showed to us and our community.
Our organisation is about creating awareness about suicide prevention. We are about empowering individuals to step forward and help save lives.
Your donation towards our organisation will assist us in spreading the message and raising awareness of mental health.
Thank you for taking the time to read the above message.
– Love Wes
