Belmont Private is the largest private acute mental health hospital in Queensland. We are a 150-bed hospital and Authorised Mental Health Service under the Queensland Mental Health Act located in Carina Heights. For over 40 years Belmont Private has proudly delivered clinical excellence and innovation in patient-centred care, with positive outcomes. In Queensland, we are the only dedicated private, inpatient hospital for the treatment of perinatal mood disorders as well as the only service offering a dedicated unit and specialist treatment for dissociative disorders.
Through our attendance at this year’s Walk for Awareness, we hope to help break down the stigma associated with mental illness and reinforce the message that it’s OK not to be OK and that there is no shame in seeking treatment at a mental health facility. We hope that our attendance can start to normalise this message and bring the community together through a positive and active common cause.
