Walk For Awareness

The Walk For Awareness is the flagship event by Mental Awareness Foundation that opens Mental Health Week each year.

How It Works

Gather your friends and register for this years Walk for Awareness! There are 2 ways to register – Physical & Virtual. Come down and join the Physical event on the day or register to participate in the Virtual event from anywhere you want!

Once you have registered, update and share your Fundraising page.
Share it with your social networks, friends, family & work mates. Get active and start spreading the word about Mental Health Awareness and why you are walking.

On the day, gather your team and join us either physically or virtually.
There will be a Live Stream online so you can watch and feel a part of the event on the day from your local area. Or join us in person in the heart of Brisbane!

About the Event

This is a time to come together as a community, celebrate life and remember those we’ve lost. We have two options available to participate. A virtual walk, so you can walk wherever you want or our physical walk in Brisbane with 1,000’s of people making a difference in our community.

Beginning with an inspiring opening ceremony, we will remember those lost to depression and mental illness and honour those continuing the battle. We will have a quick warm-up and stretch, then take off on our 9km walk.

We encourage you to join us at Captain Burke park or virtually. Share your photos with the rest of the Walk for Awareness community, showing the amazing impact you’ve just made in the quest to raise awareness of depression and mental illness.

Walk for Awareness is an event that involves bringing people together in a friendly and safe environment where issues of mental health can be discussed openly with friends, family, and supportive strangers. We believe the matters surrounding suicide should be discussed, not hidden.
